Completely self contained computer hardware, network, OS troubleshooting skills
Developing skill sets for Game engine utilization for interactive walk throughs and games.
TOOLS of the TRADE
The following list is the software and tools that I most commonly use to get things done.
3D MODELING SOFTWARE

This is my primary software tool for getting things done in a production stream. I have been using this software for over 20 years. I am fully versed in the parametric modeling features of this software.

My go to modeler for making quick and dirty models or taking advantage of the huge online library of the Google Warehouse.

I use this software for all the weird things that come up when trying to translate a model or make something that needs to be game engine friendly.

My number one choice for a things that need to be rendered. Its diverse and extremely powerful. If you have a great graphics card, you can't beat this renderer.

Humans, Humans, Humans. This is my primary software package for producing people for just about any 3D environment where people are needed.

This was my primary Human making software until DAZ surpassed it a few years ago. It's still a great piece of software that I have used since release 2.0 and still do.

I use this software for mostly flat pattern production, but have used it to make some simple organic models. Very intuitive package with a light resource footprint.

Don't have big budget for Audio editing? Audacity to the rescue! This sharp and free audio editor is my primary tool for anything involving sound production. Its awesome and portable too.

MY primary tool for editing the meta data of any audio file I produce or edit. It is absolutely awesome and portable too.

My primary software for all things video and the editing of them. It is pretty robust without all the headache of much more expensive software packages.

Best portable video and audio translator I have ever used. For a free and portable piece of software it is also a good tool to have around for on the fly translations.
AUDIO / VIDEO SOFTWARE

My primary workhorse for everything image related. It now works great with Quixel for producing texture assets for renderings and game engines.

So close to Photoshop its not even funny. But has some outstanding features that sometimes surpasses Photoshop. My go to software when Photoshop is just not available.

Its Illustrator on a budget, when the budget is zero dollars. Its smart intuitive and has some suprising features that work well with AutoCAD. Who knew?

With this set of tools you can literally go into full texture asset production. I use this software for all my game engine and rendering needs.
IMAGE EDITING SOFTWARE

My new primary software for creating walk throughs and, yeah games too. A very robust engine that is easy to get into and learn. I really enjoy the features it has and bought the Pro version and never looked back. The free version is just as good.

Finite State Machine is my new friend. Playmaker makes it possible to get things done where scripting would otherwise be needed. It cover the most common scripts in the unity engine. A must have if you hate scripting.

Virtual Reality is long time passion of mine and Oculus delivered that in spades. I really enjoy using the hardware creating worlds that people can enjoy. For me it is a serious design tool that is well overdue.

Leap motion makes it possible to use your hands in virtual reality without the need for joysticks. Its a bit quirky at times but the developers are really pushing this idea to the next level. Plus, its a lot of fun to use.
GAME ENGINE / HARDWARE
Welcome to my new favorite pieces of software!

This is a great Free Organic 3d Modeler from the same makers of Zbrush, Pixologic. I use it for making organic objects on the fly.

What a great freeware piece of software for making straight up models for your renderings. There is a great community that keeps the project alive.

This little software is awesome for making paper craft models. Its simple to use and really cheap. It is great for making prototype models on the fly.

Another great video editor that is free and is great for getting down and dirty editing done
